Frequently Asked Dentistry Questions
Have a dental-related question? Then you’ve come to the right place! Patient education is very important here at Cross Creek Dental Care, because the more you know, the healthier you’ll be! You’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked dentistry questions we receive every day below, but if there is anything else you’d like to know about, feel free to give us a call and ask about whatever is on your mind.
When should I get a checkup and cleaning?
Even if you aren’t experiencing any problems with your teeth, you should still get a checkup and cleaning at least twice a year. These routine appointments enable our team to find and catch any decay before it becomes serious, and we can also stop many issues before they ever begin with regular cleanings.
One of my teeth really hurts. What should I do?
Try rinsing and flossing around the tooth, as a stuck piece of food is often the source of minor tooth pain. If this doesn’t help, you might actually have a dental infection, in which case you should give us a call. Waiting will only allow the problem to become worse, but we’ll be happy to see you and take care of it right away.
Should I get a bridge, denture, or dental implants to replace my missing teeth?
The answer to this question really depends on a few factors, such as how many teeth you are missing, the current state of your oral health, and your budget. Each option is able to deliver beautiful, long-lasting results, but in most cases, our dentists would highly recommend dental implants because they are the closest thing to natural teeth. To get a more definitive answer, we recommend scheduling an in-person consultation.
Is there any way I can straighten my teeth without getting metal braces?
Yes! Instead of metal brackets and wires, ClearCorrect and Invisalign use clear plastic aligner trays to shift the teeth that completely blend into the smile. Basically, only you and your dentist will know you’re undergoing treatment! Right now, you can even get Invisalign for as little as $149 through our dental office. To learn more about these treatments and see which one would be best for you, call us today.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
If you have dental insurance, we can pretty much guarantee that we’ll take it. We’re happy to work with plans from many different providers and help our patients save as much as possible. We can let you know how we’ll be able to use your particular policy when you give us a call.
I don’t have dental insurance. Is there another way to make my care more affordable?
Yes! You can sign up for our Dental Savings Plan, in which one flat fee is all that’s needed to cover your routine dental care for the entire year. Our plan also gives you a 15% discount on all other treatments, including cosmetic procedures typically not covered by insurance. To learn more about our plan and how to sign up, give us a call today.
